ABSTRACT
The aim of this research was to compare the methods of chemical-mechanical and mechanical removal of dental caries through a systematic review. For this, an exhaustive search was carried out in the Pubmed database and met the following criteria: working time, dentinal tubule destruction, pain perception and five years old. We found 50 articles that met the conditions mentioned above. A total of 10 articles were referred to the time spent for the elimination of caries, 9 to the destruction of the dentinal tubules and 2 to the perception of pain. In conclusion, the method of chemical-mechanical removal of dental caries is the best alternative according to the presented meta-analysis.
